Recently, I visited Teleo Coffee in Kirkwood, MO, on two separate occasions. One for a date day coffee before our activity, and another to pop in and grab a quick to-go order while I was in the area. The coffee shop, housed in what looks like an old renovated home turned coffee house, strives to support the people and places of St. Louis.
Initial Reaction
I instantly thought this was such a cute coffeehouse. It was a nice day and several people were on the porch area enjoying the weather and their coffees. This gave it a homey feel right away, especially feeling like it’s in a house rather than a traditional storefront.

Coffee Order
Test Drink: Vanilla Cappuccino.

This is my go-to hot coffee order on a pinch, so I use it as a baseline quality test. Here, it was not too sweet (just as I prefer it). It had a good amount of foam with a cute design, even in my to-go cup. I usually prefer a bit more, but the sweetness-to-coffee ratio was almost exactly how I like it. I hate when a drink is all sugar, no coffee flavor, but this didn’t feel that way. Teleo uses house-made syrups, which usually help with the sweetness levels.
Signature Drink: Iced Mini on Monroe.

I asked the barista whether she would prefer this signature drink hot or iced to help make my decision. The Mini on Monroe is a special Teleo menu item, basically a pure maple and brown sugar latte. It had a good deal of milk/cream in it and was sweeter than my cappuccino, but still had a coffee taste rather than being overpowered by sweetness and cream. I loved the brown sugar and maple flavor combo.
Pretty Rounded Snapshot
☕Coffee Quality: The coffee was delicious and not too sweet, which is important to me. It tasted like coffee with some flavor rather than the other way around.
🕯️Cozy Factor: The plants added a level of cozy; however, the interior was bright and inviting, almost like an additional wake-up with the coffee. The porch added a bit of coziness and a sense of gathering on a nice day.
💻Work-Friendly: The main level inside was bustling with only a small seating area featuring a few tables, but I could still picture it as a nice place to sit and get some work done. They also had an upstairs that I didn’t venture to, but I imagine if you wanted to come in and work, that would be the perfect place.
🛋️Linger Level: I feel like the porch and upstairs areas are meant for lingering, while the main area felt more like visiting for a quick coffee.
✨Atmosphere: It was bright and airy inside with greenery and a small retail wall.
💰Price: I found Teleo had very fair pricing for being a downtown Kirkwood shop.
This is the Perfect Coffee Shop For…
A nice spring day, catching up with a friend, or a morning coffee date.

Would I Go Back?
Obviously yes, considering I’ve already been back once since my first visit! I’d still love to return one day when I have more time and take advantage of their flight offerings, which gives you the opportunity to sample 3 coffees.

Teleo offers a variety of coffees for coffee lovers of all kinds. Both coffees I tried were yummy and still tasted like coffee, which is important to me in a coffee shop. In the spring, there are plenty of options to linger, whether you want to sit upstairs, find a spot in the main area, or outside in the fresh air.
